- Sea ports in maritime tourism services
- Automation of cargo handling processes in ports
Information about the symposium
We would like to invite you to participate in the SEA PORTS 2018 symposium, once again organized by the Faculty of Economics and Transport Engineering of the Maritime University of Szczecin in cooperation with the West Pomeranian Maritime Cluster. The symposium will be held on April 12th, 2018 in Szczecin. The debates will be split into two substantially different areas.
The first area will address issues in the field of maritime tourism services in ports. In this field, the aim of the symposium will be to evaluate the best practices used in European seaports and port towns in the maritime tourism sector and also to evaluate development possibilities for the water tourism sector, based on the example of the port of Szczecin.
The second area will focus on issues of the automation of cargo handling processes and adoption of IT tools in this field. The aim of the debate is to rate the port’s automation level and capabilities for various types of cargo and to analyse solutions of this type used in seaports in Europe.
The subjects of the symposium will be complemented by issues concerning Project Cargo handling and offshore constructions in seaports, based on the example of the port of Szczecin.
Participants of the symposium will be not only representatives of the scientific community, students and PhD students, but also entrepreneurs and representatives of authorities related to the symposium’s thematic areas.
During the symposium, participants will be able to gain and expand their knowledge in subjects related to maritime tourism services in sea ports and the automation of cargo handling processes in ports, and lectures conducted by both representatives of the scientific community and business practice will allow them to carry out analysis of particular areas from different points of view, allowing them to exchange opinions and experience.
